FIATA: shipping lines forces customers to buy additional services
FIATA against shipping lines: the international forwarders organization accuses shipping lines to push customers to buy unnecessaries services just to load containers
FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) by the words of its president, bulgarian forwarder Ivan Petrov, is again accusing shipping lines for today’s supply chain global situation: as time goes by, the main shipping lines earn every Q hundreds of millions or more and their services are not improving but get worst. It is possible to check dysfunctionalities at the departing ports, transhipment ports and destination ports. Pick up and deliveries as well. Transit times more or less doubled up and se-freights often increased till +600% (Far East-Europe) or more (towards USA).
Now, FIATA accused the shipping lines to push the customers to buy additional and unnecessary services in order to load their containers. FIATA said this policy is often happens. Vice president Jens Roamer said European Commission should be as proactive as Federal Maritime Commision has been on shipping lines issues.
