Xeneta: Far East-Mediterranean Sea freights higher then Far East-Northern Europe
Xeneta, counsulting company with intresting analysis on air and sea markets, published a report which underlined the bizzare unbalance about the price of sea freights from Far East to Europe.
“Container Rate Update”, the last Xeneta report, showed that from january 2022 the sea freights from Far East to North Europe ports decreased averagely 3600 USD whilst toward Mediterranean Sea they decreased averagely only 850 USD. Xeneta said that depart from Shanghai and dock in Rotterdam or Hamburg costs 2100 dollars less then berth to Genoa or Barcelona.
One of the main reason is the rise of volumes toward Mediterranean countries. Xeneta foresees a future balance for sea freights toward both european destination.
